In 2018 the Adamello Brenta Nature Park started some geological research projects in collaboration with some Italian Universities.
The aim is to enhance the knowledge of the Geopark geological heritage. To improve its conservation and enhance awareness of its value through specific environmental educationsl activities.
In particolar, in 2019, in collaboration with the Università of Pavia, Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra e dell’Ambiente, and the University of Padua, Dipartimento di Geoscienze, a geomorphological survey of the area studied by the BioMiti project is underway and a feasibility study of the geomorphological map of the entire Geopark area.
The University of Bologna, Dipartimento di Scienze Biologiche Geologiche Ambientali, is currently collaborating in determining the granitic sand deposit samples coming from the Raponzolo Cave in the Brenta Dolomites.
The cave was discovered in 2011 by Gruppo Speleologico Trentino SAT Bindesi Villazzano.
We will soon publish the results and in-depth studies.
