At the entrance of the beautiful Val d’Ambiez, San Lorenzo Dorsino is one of the access gates to the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. It is also one of the most beautiful villages in Italy for uses and customs lost elsewhere. Villages still in time, the flavors of an ancient land, the hospitality of the local people. And then the breathtaking landscapes and the majestic peaks of the Brenta Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Seven Villas

Thanks to its architectural and culinary characteristics, San Lorenzo in Banale is deservedly part of the most beautiful Borghi d’Italia and has obtained the Slow Food award for the delicious Ciuiga del Banale (a typical salame). In addition to the seven villas, there are also the villages of Dorsino, Tavodo and Andogno. In these three ancient settlements, the houses with the typical architecture in stone and wood evoke local customs and traditions, linked to the land and the slow passing of time.

Looking at the magnificent Brenta Dolomites, it is practically impossible to resist the temptation of doing some exercise: from mountain biking to trekking, from climbing to Nordic walking. The whole territory is an open-air gym.

For mountain lovers there are routes of varying difficulty immersed in the silence of uncontaminated nature. The most famous destination is the Val d’Ambiez which leads to the discovery of a spectacular natural amphitheater. Green pastures, a very rich flora and fauna, and the imposing rock walls of the Brenta Dolomites on which you can climb numerous climbing routes. From here you can also reach equipped routes, the beautiful circular route around the Brenta, as well as the highest peak of the Brenta Dolomites with its 3173 m asl: Cima Tosa.

To prepare climbing the fantastic walls on the Brenta, you can train just outside the village. For those looking for as much beauty but less crowded places, mandatory stops are the Val di Jon and Mount Prada. The Municipality of San Lorenzo Dorsino is also crossed by two important long-distance paths: the San Vili and the Frassati.

Mountain bike lovers can venture on many routes, among which the Dolomiti di Brenta Bike tour stands out.

For those who are looking for something more peaceful, they can indulge in scenic walks among the hamlets, sport fishing in the Nembia pond or can work out at the Promeghin sports center.
