In the upper Val Nardis exposed in the four different directions, on the slope of the protected area of the Cima Presanella, are the mountain glaciers Nardis West (1.18 km2) and Monte Nero (0.08 km2) and Nardis West I (0, 03 km2), West II (0.02 km2), East (0.09 km2), Cima 4 Cantoni NW (0.02 km2).
The Nardis – Monte Nero glacier is located in the Presanella mountain range. Actually it consists of several glaciers near the highest mountain in the whole park, the Cima Presanella (3558 m) and its ridge. The latter traces its northern border with the Torre Scarazon, Monte Gabbiolo, Cima Vermiglio, Cima d’Amola and Cima Vedretta Nera. The Nardis – Monte Nero glacier, like the Adamello glaciers, are3 affected by the irremediable consequences of global warming and are progressively downsizing. The Presanella glaciers are fewer and smaller than those of the nearby Adamello, due to the different shape of the massif. The western Nardis glacier is one of the 61 geosites of the Adamello Brenta UNESCO Global Geopark.
