Ancient quarry from which the Adamello tonalite was extracted, a decorative stone widely used in the traditional buildings of Val Rendena.

The ancient quarry of Pimont is one of the quarries of ornamental stones in the geopark. These are historically important. In fact the decorative stones used to decorate the main monuments, palaces and churches of Trentino and Val Rendena were extracted from here. The ancient quarry of Pimont was a quarry of Tonalite. This rock is strongly characteristic of the geopark. Found in abundance in the Adamello-Presanella sector, it is known for its mineralogical and petrological peculiarity. The name also derives from a local toponym known throughout the world. The quarry was located at the end of the Val Nambrone. Today the quarry is abandoned.
