Ancient quartz quarries from which the mineral destined to the glass production was extracted and used at the glassworks in the Giudicarie valleys during the 19th century.

In the Giudicarie glassworks of the 1800s, slabs for windows, bottles and fine glassware were produced. The ancient quarries of Caderzone supplied quartz along with other quarries in the geopark territory. From this mineral, in fact, silicon was obtained for the production of glass paste. The value of this geosite lies precisely in the cultural value of the quartz resource. A rock used by man and that thanks to the substrate has shaped the local culture.
